It’s Saturday isn’t it? Fancy a dance?

Have a great weekend you lovely thangs, keep those vibes high and never let the buggers get you down or lower that good energy.

Dont feel the cold, Be the thermostat. Change the way you look at them so they longer seem like twits.

Because in reality they are just doing them…like we are all just doing us. As best we can with what we know at the time.

Being you real selves to its fullest hopefully, obviously without hurting anyone or anthing on the way.

Truly the only power to change anyone is in changing ourselves.

Not that we need ANY fixing nor that we aren’t fantabulous just the way we are.

But I do believe wholeheartedly that when you stop learning, you stop living.

Peace, Love and Light to to and yours and thanks again for all the love

Where did you sleep last night. The song with 3 names and 2 origins. X

I had no idea that there are so many versions of this song ! Though it should not be much of a surprise as it is one of my favourites.

I absolutely Love LEADBELLY in general, but hearing him, you can understand what inspired all those that followed, to give this song a go.

I think he would have loved the WANDA DAVIS version perhaps?ย I do have to say though, that each and every cover has its merits. Each one has most definately made it there own, so much so that they almost sound like a different song they all sound so different.

The NIVANA version is another one of my all time favourite songs, also on my personal favourite album’s of theirs, the fabulous NIVANA UNPLUGGED. I have a feeling that they would have liked the last one by LENA HALL. Such pain in every note it’s wonderful.

Plus a version i had not known called BLACK GIRL by LEADBELLY which I think is the first recording.

And IN THE PINES which i believe is an American folk song.

So amazingly this song derives from two songs which is brilliant in itself isn’t it.

Sometimes know as either IN THE PINES, MY GIRL or WHERE DID YOU SLEEP LAST NIGHT. Actually came from the songs, IN THE PINES and THE LONGEST TRAIN.

Sadly the author of neither songs are known, but have been known to date back to Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee and Kentuky and North Georgia from at least the 1870’s.

Which blows my mind, but only serves to proove that ย great songs are great songs and that they will always endure the test of time.

Amazing. x

Even a very Blu Grass version by BILL MUNROE

Silent, Soulful Sunday Afternoon Delight Playlist Part 1. With Big Love ๐Ÿ’–

Jimi, Jimi, Jimi… I Needed a bit of this today, hope you do too.x well yesterday if I could sort my posting out…oops๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒป

The first album I ever had was Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Ladyland. I was  when I was only 7 years old and what I know now was probably the beginning of my passion for music.

The reason I say had, is because I do mean had.  Previously my big brother actually HAD it… and then he didn’t and I had somehow liberated it from him ; ).  Though if he had been bothered i’m sure he would have fought me for it. It wasn’t as if he didn’t hear me playing it from then on constantly.

As soon as I heard it I was hooked. It felt like he was expressing it all for me.

Have you ever felt that when you hear music or a band that just feels like you/me? As though it were a part of you already? A known quantity, that just needed to come home. That when you hear it it makes perfect sense, like somehow they speak for you? Or is it just me?

There are many, many incredible guitarists that I also love with a passion in their own way, each brilliant, each unique. But still no one plays it like Jimi. x

What was the first album you had?…. and bought yourself? lol

The first 2 that i bought for myself after Jimi, with my own money that is, was Randy Crawford and Michael Jackson, Off the Wall

And a lovely light reggae version that i have only just found…x
