How about a little of this today. X
These are friggin AWESOME. The detail and accuracy at that scale is utterly remarkable.
Do we take the time to see that this is a part of our renaissance or rather continual naissance? Our birth of the new forms of arts.
These are surely just the same. Arts pushing boundaries and evolving as they must with the time, using anything it can to thrive and stay alive.
These are our generations young new artists doing the same as those artists did then. The rebels, the visionaries the ones who continually surprise us and move us so masterfully forward.
Like the rappers, I believe, our new voice of poetry, not all perhaps, but the great and the bright and even film scores surely our new equivalent classical composers.
Because it did not sound classical or old to them then did it? It was current then, and often groundbreaking even.
Wasnt it, of it’s time, a revolution of the old. Its ancestors natural evolution and progression onwards?
Though it is true that often Art is soberly lead to where the money is In Film most definitely too, that’s where people now get paid to write scores for film and tv. Which is no differently to a king or nobleman commissioning a portrait in the 15 C.
Which undoubtedly has always coloured the freedom of some arts over the centuries.
This is not.
This has no money attached to it, no rules, just Art straight and free from the heart.
And you gotta love that. X
I love a great knob ; )
Although it is a hell of a budget before these things are even considered more than just a means of opening a door. But in an imaginary world, where money is no object and that it would not be best spent on almost anything other, more important than frivolity like this.
So from a purely aesthetic point of view. I do so love this level of attention to quality and detail. To arrive at a door that the mere sight of it brings you joy and an occasion each time it’s used, is a wonderful thing. The craftsmanship alone of some of these is just fabulous.
What i do find a shame though is that I have often found that the people who have this level of luxury in their lives, rarely seem to enjoy or even notice the craftsmanship or qualities that I admire them so much for.
Like our walls perhaps free of a myriad of Old Master paintings and antiques ….. if we didn’t have them, did we miss them?
To them I also say Knobs, Lol. Look around, and really see the beauty of it all and how lucky you are. Although its not really their fault either as it’s what they are used to, the same as any of us.
It’s what we grow used to really, isn’t it? Our reality and experience is always ours alone. But does the commonplace always become taken for granted or even ignored no matter how exceptional or beautiful?
Do we take the time to enjoy what we have now?
Shouldn’t we all try and take the time to notice and enjoy all the little details around us too and remember how lucky we are ? Whether a passing bloom, the touch of a loved ones skin, a wonderful door, some angelic birdsong or just a smile that was freely and genuinely given that day.
No matter how lucky we feel we are, still take pleasure, relish and even celebrate all that you are lucky enough to be and have around you. No matter how small, rejoice in it all.
On a lighter note though, the look of the knob is perhaps equally as important to me as how it feels in your hand, don’t you think?
Ahem, I’ll stop there….
Just look at these absolutely incredible birds. With something very handsome but rather tough and intimidating about them too, don’t you think?
Some birds are stunning to look at, some cute, but these do look like a hard muscley, flying, killing machines. The equivalent of the commando or special forces of birds world.
I can only imagine what it must be like to be their prey. To suddenly see any of these gods of the air flying at you or chasing you, would be truly terrifying.
I can’t get over the variety either, I had no idea. Though realistically why would this be any different from any other species. Natures is infinitely boundless and beautiful in its variety in all species.
Wonderful isn’t it….
Today I am grateful for this. X
